Thakurganti Mandro Sakhi Silk Handloom Weavers Pvt. Ltd. was established in May 2024 as a women-centric handloom development initiative under the Handloom Artisans cluster development project, NRLM. The organization focuses on holistic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods of rural artisan communities in Godda & Sahibganj, Jharkhand. Key areas of focus include: - Skill Development: Enhancing technical and entrepreneurial skills of women weavers, with a Common Facility Centre (CFC) setup - Sustainable Handloom Production: Promoting eco-friendly practices and quality standards - Credit Linkages: Facilitating access to financial resources for women weavers and SHG members - Sales and Market Linkage Support: Connecting artisans with local, national, and international markets The initiative preserves traditional silk weaving techniques while integrating modern standards and digital access. Implemented under ADIVA, it receives support from PALASH-JSLPS, Government of Jharkhand, and technical assistance from the Foundation for MSME Clusters, New Delhi.
Sakhi Silk Handloom Weavers is committed to strengthening rural livelihoods by promoting traditional silk weaving techniques, natural dye processes, and skill-based artisan training. Our mission is to preserve indigenous textile heritage while connecting rural women artisans to national and global markets through modern design, quality production, and digital commerce platforms.
We are actively working at the grassroots level across rural clusters, connecting women artisans, SHG groups, and traditional silk weavers with sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through skill training, natural dye programs, and market linkage support, we are strengthening rural economies while preserving traditional handloom heritage for future generations.
